Welcome to my studio

I’m Kayla and I’m happy you’re here!

My paintings are influenced by sunlight, nature, and play - many things that mark my life as a mother to littles. I love capturing beauty and joy in oil, using impressionistic brushstrokes to create vibrant, playful paintings.

A short but stunning Mary Oliver poem beautifully captures the reason I love to paint (see below!).

About the artist
A woman is painting, with a focus on her workspace which includes jars filled with paintbrushes and painting tools. She is near a window, and her face is slightly out of focus in the background.

Instructions for living a life:

Close-up of a person's hand mixing paints with a palette knife on a painter's palette, with various colors of paint on the palette and a wooden background.

Pay attention.

Be astonished.

Tell about it.

-Mary Oliver
